I feel you. I’ve been depressed before, and I’ve mostly gotten through it. You just have to keep telling yourself that you will get over it. Even if you don’t believe it, keep telling yourself that, and one day, even if it’s years from now, you’ll realize that you have gotten over it. You just have to wait. I know that’s hard to hear, but trust me. Keep telling yourself things will get better. I know it’s hard, but you can do it.
You have to believe your best friend. He’s your best friend so he won’t lie to you. If he told you it was ok, it’s ok. Trust him, talk to him, cry on his shoulder. That’s what a best friend is for. Tell him what you are thinking, tell him that you don’t think he deserves this. You guys can talk this over, and at least he’ll know what you’re really feeling.
And as for your life having stress, do this, and always remember this: if you ever feel too stressed out or too overwhelmed, stop whatever you’re doing. Pull your car over if you’re driving, go to a comfortable place if you’re at home or someone’s house, and breathe. Take slow, deep breaths. Start off counting to three when you inhale, hold it for 3 counts, exhale for three counts. Do that a few times. Then move up to four counts, then five. The entire time, think about breathing, nothing else. Feel the stress leaving your body. When you’re done, tell yourself you can get through what’s making all the stress. If you start to stress out again, stop thinking and start breathing again. Everything will pass and things will get better, believe me.
